Planning ahead for tournaments? The links below allow you to access information you need to plan for the national academic touranments. These links include: important documents that need to be disseminated to coaches, teachers, and parents; sample letters for your parents that provide dates and information; sample articles to be included in your school newspaper; helpful documents for your clubs; and much more.
For your school to participate in the Spring tournament a School Contact Designee Form must be completed and faxed or mailed to the Pentathlon Institute's headquarters.

School Contact Designee Form: COMPLETED YEARLY USUALLY IN THE FALL - Essential if you are a tournament school and are to be included in registration listing. The School Contact Designee is approved by the school's adminstrator to receive documents and other information from the Pentathlon Institute. Game Leader Application with Responsibilities: We encourage Serving as a Gameleader is a rewarding experience and as a Game Leader you may designate one child to participate in the National Academic Tournament at no cost. Each school, club, or household sending more than 20 students must provide at least 1 Game Leader for each Division in which their students compete. Volunteer Trainings, Handouts, & Game Volunteer List: Volunteers are essential for the success of every tournamen. The following key links below are for volunteer trainining events, important hand out for volunteers, and volunteer list each school must submit to participate in the academic tournaments.
Tournament Volunteer Training Events: A link to all Tournament Volunteer Training Events. The centers hosting Volunteer & Officials Sessions (VOSs) are: MICHIGAN - TEXAS - INDIANAPOLIS - ELKHART
Volunteer Training Handout: This handout is given to all tournament volunteers during the traning sessions (VOSs) in Feburary and March. To download and print this pdf handout you may need to have the free adobe reader.
Game Volunteer List of Adults for Tournament: This sheet is for your school or club to identify who your supervisors are and what game they will be volunteering to supervise. An adult volunteer is necessary for every two Pentathletes to ensure that each Pentathlon game is properly officiated. Registration Options for Schools & Clubs: There are THREE WAYS for a school to register students for the National Academic Mathemics Pentathlon Tournaments. The following links show the different options for a school to register:
- View the All Three Ways to Register: This is a link that shows the different options for tournament registration. Inlcuded are the Benefits of each option, the Tournament Information Brochure, and all forms and documents needed for registration.
- Online Registration by Parent: BENEFITS: Low registration fee, no fees collected, only 2 or 3 forms to complete, School's Contact Designeecan download ALL your school's registrations any time.
- Registration by Coach: BENEFITS: School's Primary Contact enters all registration data for their school.
- Mailed in Paper Registration: BENEFITS: Everything goes through the school with attention paid to the details of regisrations, finances, mailings, and information.
NOTE: 1) This is the most time consuming of all options for a school coach; 2) School contact can NOT view their school's registrations online.
Team Form: In addition to individual competition, we also offer National Mathematics Pentathlon Tournament (NMPT) team competition. A NMPT team consists of 30 students (and up to 10 alternates) across five grade levels, with a distribution of three boys and three girls per grade level.
